New Orleans—she spills life over the banks of the Mississippi River like the river itself in spring. She withholds her mysteries and secrets while she showcases her festivals, celebrations and historic magnificence. I grew up in Mississippi, coming to New Orleans as a little girl, visiting my Uncle Merrill who was medical director at Ochsner Clinic for nearly twenty years and fell in love with her.
I came back to New Orleans to live after a lifetime of personal and professional twists and turns that took me around the country and around the world. As a young woman, I worked in finance at Merrill Lynch and Chemical Bank in New York City, earning my MBA from Columbia University. Later, I came back to Mississippi and got my CPA. I practiced tax accounting for years in Mississippi and then California.
Eventually, I married and raised a family, following my husband through his political labyrinth of elected and appointed offices at the state, national and international levels.
When my two girls were grown, I made a conscientious decision to move to the city I loved as a child (riding the Zephyr Roller Coaster at Pontchartrain Beach), as a teenager (cutting her teeth on the exotic world of the French Quarter) and as a college co-ed (running the roads at Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest).
And what better way to soak up the essence of this city than to market her rich architecture, her fertile alluvial dirt and the stories of her neighborhoods and rich and varied cultures.
The city has made its own twists and turns over the years, but it has never been as vibrant and full of life as it is today and the high demand for residential real estate reflects that reality. Let’s explore this real estate market together. I can take you on a residential or investment search and the ride and reward will change your life.
Now, be careful of one thing…August temperatures and humidity are rather brutal. Perhaps we can take a little breather and share a poolside glass of champagne to celebrate your decision.
